Potomac Point Winery recently teamed up with Aquia’s Table at their 4th annual golf tournament at Augustine Golf Club. In hopes of reaching out to our Stafford County community we came baring great wine, plentiful laughs, and a whole lot of unfortunate golf technique. Aquia’s Table has been serving meals to the community every week at Aquia Episcopal Church since its conception in 2009. Every Wednesday from 6:00pm to 7:30pm a new hot meal is served with a side of fellowship at this local church. Aquia’s Table began their annual golf tournament in hopes of raising money to continue with their ministry and mission to provide companionship and a tasty meal to anyone who needs it. This year, Potomac Point gave complementary wine tastings of our signature wines to participants in this golf tournament for a good cause. We figured that maybe if wine was present, no one would notice just how badly we were losing.  With that being said, we had a rewarding and amazing experience serving the community, and had a blast placing dead last in the tournament itself! On the plus side, our team was given stylish bowling trophies for having the highest score of the tournament! Win(e) or lose, we had a great time with Aquia’s Table on May 6th and were excited that a Virginia Winery could help give back to its community!

In closing, we would like to add that if you are in fear of placing last in a future golf tournament… just call us and we will send a foursome out to make you look like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, or even Annika Sorenstam. If you haven’t caught on by now, let’s just say that we will leave the golfing to you if you leave the winemaking to us!
