A Champion at the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association Competition
The Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association (ASWA) is one of the oldest wine organizations on the East Coast, dedicated to promoting American wines produced in the seventeen states that touch the Atlantic, as well as West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. Their annual wine competition is the largest in the nation focused exclusively on wines from this region, with entries judged by a distinguished panel of professionals from across the country.
We are incredibly proud to share that our 2024 Albariño not only received a prestigious Double Gold medal but was also named “Best in Class”—a title reserved for the top-scoring wine in its category. This “Best in Class” designation means that among all the Albarino wines entered, ours was the highest-rated. This is a tremendous achievement and a huge honor for our team.
James Suckling Report: A Score of 91!
In addition to its success at the ASWA, our 2023 Albariño also received a remarkable score of 91 from JamesSuckling.com. For those unfamiliar, James Suckling is a world-renowned wine critic with a career spanning over four decades. He rates wines using the 100-point scale, where a score of 90 or above signifies an “outstanding” wine and a fantastic purchase. To receive a 91 from such a respected critic is a significant recognition of the quality and character of our Albariño.
Other Potomac Point wines also earned excellent scores in the report, including our 2022 Petit Manseng with an 87 and our 2022 Richland Reserve Viognier with an 88.
These awards highlight our ongoing commitment to producing exceptional wines that showcase the unique terroir of our region.
